Advanced Nanotube Application and Manufacturing Initiative (ANAM)

Biography

Since December 2015 Supriya Chakrabarti is working as a Research Associate at Ulster University, UK, under the Advanced Nanotube Application and Manufacturing Initiative (ANAM) project.

Prior to joining the ANAM project had more than six years of Postdoctoral research experience in Japan, USA, Italy and UK. His research interests are growth and application of Carbon based nanomaterials, CVD (chemical vapor deposition) and atmospheric plasma synthesis of nanomaterials, multifunctional nanomaterials, bio-inspired nanomaterials, bio-mimicking systems, novel energy storage devices and quantum dot based third generation solar cells.

He completed his PhD from the Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science, India in 2004.  During his PhD degree in Materials Science in India, he got several best poster awards in national and international conferences of nanomaterials. He also received National Renewable Energy Fellowship for progressing research work in India.

His research achievements have been highlighted in Nature Nanotechnology News and Japan Newspaper. He is the primary inventor of a Patent for the development of the process for producing carbon nanostructure and gas for carbon nanostructure production. He has published more than 40 research papers in top scientific journal of high impact factors. Many of his published journal papers have very high citations (more than 100), with a total citation of 1368 and i-10 index of 33 till the end of 2015.

He was awarded with NEDO fellowship of Japan in 2004 and ICTP fellowship of Italy in 2005. He was invited (2007) as a speaker at University of Tokyo, Japan for presenting his research in Carbon nanotube. He has been elected as distinguished referee for the Journals; Applied Physics Letter and Journal of Applied Physics, www.aip.org since 2007.
