A key part of the Initiative is the inclusion of an industrial consortium of manufacturers and end users seeking to utilize CNTs as functional materials.
Members of the consortium come from a broad range of industrial interests including aerospace, automotive, defence and materials applications. These companies recognise the distinct advantages and potential offered by CNTs
Members of the consortium play a vital and pro-active role in influencing the aims and directions of research.
They obtain the benefits, including exploitation of intellectual property, for relatively low cost.
The make–up of the consortium ensures that the members have complementary interests and that commercial confidentiality is maintained where necessary. Membership is based on an annual subscription.
The industrial partners will be encouraged to provide on-going input to develop and expand the directions of the project.
