Advanced Nanotube Application and Manufacturing Initiative (ANAM)

None

The mechanical properties of CNT fibre, mat and composites have undergone initial testing under as-produced and slightly modified CNTs material.

ANAM will measure and explain the fundamental structural performance of the CNT materials, as well as synthesizing composites for further structural analysis.

We are examining the mechanical properties of carbon nanotube paper with various types of matrixes.  The relevant mechanical properties of tensile and compressive stress-strain response and toughness will be examined.  The challenge is to achieve the as-desired properties as a function of fibre network and choice of matrix.

Of interest too is the dependence of thermal and electrical properties upon state of strain.
